Don't Touch That Button

Our first Jenvention on the web (or "the internets as my grandmother always called it) was great fun.  Too bad 2 of the 3 Jens are clueless about technology and dumped all producing responsibilities on Jen Mat.  We may have set the bar a little too high.  But check out our recommendations. We have an app to end the white slavery of scrapbooking,  a book to inspire you and a cocktail to enjoy the last bit of summer with.

Past get-togethers

We had a couple of Jenventions in 2010. One was at our 20-year high school reunion, and the other was in March in Tuscaloosa. Both of those were with Meredith, who is an honorary Jen. We discussed the March mini-Jenvention on our personal blogs:

Inspiration

If our blog takes off and we keep it up for 30 more years, maybe we will be like Margaret and Helen!

Semantics part deux

In the same text thread mentioned earlier, we learned there is a difference in "the woods" and "the Forrest" (capitalization intended).  In the woods behind my house you will find, a trail made by son and his friends, the  skin of a snake we are hoping to avoid, the burial site for the family pet (RIP Miranda) and evidence of target shooting and ATV tracks (illegal but operated nonetheless).  In the Forrest you will find druids, wolf spirit guides and a whole lot of new best friends.

Once during Ethan's 2nd birthday party a group of men dressed in camoflauge and carrying machetes emerged from the woods and strolled through the party   as if they belonged there.  They had never heard of "The Forrest" but I suggested they go look for it, they declined and took their machetes and hunting dog back into the woods from whence they came.

Soulmate semantics

JTB started this thread in a text message, and JML is continuing it here. What constitutes a soulmate?

I say I can be "cosmically connected" to someone, but that doesn't make him or her my soulmate. JTB says that's just semantics. Maybe I need a better definition for the term "soulmate."

What do you think?
